Viewing and managing your contacts, lists, and segments

Find the tools and features for adding and managing your contacts, and creating and managing your lists and segments

Our goal is to make your marketing tasks quick and easy to perform, so they don't get in the way of your primary responsibilities! All the tools you need to manage your contacts, create lists and segments, and grow your email and SMS lists are easy to find from the menu on the left-hand side, and are easy to use too.

Contacts

Your contacts are everything! Being able to view and manage your contacts ensures that your contacts' information stays up-to-date, and you can make edits to individual contacts or perform actions in bulk to update multiple contacts at once. It doesn't matter if your list is large or small; our search feature and sort options help you find the right contacts, and you can always add new ones too!

1. To open the Contacts page, click the Contacts option in the left-hand menu.
2. From the Contacts page, you can:

• Add new contacts to your account:

• Import a file of email and SMS contacts
• Copy and paste contact information to create new contacts
• Create a new email contact
• Import a file of unsubscribed contacts
• View import and export activity
• View and manage import errors

• Filter and search for contacts:

• View all your contacts and choose the information that displays in the All contacts table
• Search for contacts in the All contacts table
• Filter your contacts by their email or SMS status
• Filter your contacts to find those not on any list

• Edit and manage your contacts:

• View and edit a contact's information
• Add, edit, or delete contact notes
• Create and manage custom contact fields
• Add or remove tags from a contact
• Review a contact's recent email and SMS engagement activity
• View your subscriber insights
• Manually unsubscribe a contact
• Manually resubscribe a contact
• Delete contacts from your account

Lists and segments

Keeping your contacts organized ensures you can get the right content in front of the right contacts at the right time. Your lists are used to group contacts together, and your segments let you find contacts across different lists with the same attributes. You can send emails to both a list or a segment, and you can create either of them at any time to match your marketing needs.

1. To open the Lists and segments page, click Audience > Lists and segments in the left-hand menu.
2. From the Lists and segments page, you can create new lists and segments and:

• Manage your lists and segments

• Search for a list or segment by name
• Rename a list or segment
• Copy a list or segment
• Delete a list or segment
• Mark a contact list as a favorite
• Merge contact lists together
• Add a segment of contacts to a list

• Manage the contacts on a list or segment

• View the contacts on a list or segment
• Move a contact to a different list
• Export contacts on a list
• Export contacts on a segment
