Add a segment of contacts to a contact list

Add the current contacts that are part of a custom or prebuilt segment to a contact list to engage with them through targeted emails or SMS messages

Using segmentation to find the right audience helps you send targeted and more meaningful content to your contacts. You can add a segment to an existing list or create a new one just for the segment.

  1. From the Lists and segments page, click the All list types menu and select the "Segments" option.
  2. Click on the name of the segment you want to add to a list.

  3. Select the "Contact" box, and if you have multiple pages of contacts, click the "Select all [number] contacts" option.

  4. Click Actions > Add to list.

  5. Select a list from the drop-down menu or enter a couple of characters into the Search lists field to narrow your list options. If you want to create a new list, type in the name and select the "+ Create new [list name]" option from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click the Add button.

Repeat the steps for each segment you want to add to a list. Once the segment has been added to your list, you can engage with the contacts by sending an email with targeted and personalized content to the list. If your resulting list has contacts that are opted into SMS marketing, you can also send an SMS message to the list, too.
