Select a custom segment and then create an email to send to it, or select a custom segment or pre-defined segment while scheduling an email you've already created

When you group your contacts from across multiple lists into a segment, it's really easy to send them targeted content! There are a couple of ways to send an email to a segment:

Select an existing segment, create an email, and then send it to the segment

After you create a segment, it's ready to send to, and all you have to do is create the email content.

  1. From the Lists and Segments page, click on the All list types drop-down menu and select the "Segments" option.
  2. Next to the segment you want to engage with, click the three dots and then select the "Send an email" option.

Now you're able to choose an email template, fill it with your branding and content, and then choose when you want to send it. When you reach the email's Schedule page, your chosen segment is pre-selected for you, even if you save your draft and come back to it later.

Create an email and then select a segment from the Schedule page

When you create or copy an email, you can send it to a list or choose to send it to a segment instead. You can select a custom segment that you built yourself, or send to a pre-defined segment of contacts based on their overall engagement with your emails.

  1. While scheduling your email, select the Segment option in the Audience section.
  2. Use the Choose a segment drop-down to select a custom segment or a pre-defined segment: Most engaged, Somewhat engaged, or Least engaged.
Note: If you need to create a new segment, click the "Manage contacts" link to leave the scheduler and select your segment criteria.

Now you're ready to hit the Schedule or Send button! After you've given your contacts some time to open your email, view its results on the Email Details page to see how it performed.
