Exclamation Point IconImportant: Don't forget to periodically check for contacts that aren't on any list so you can start engaging with them again.

Keeping a well-managed contact list helps you make sense of your contacts so you can get the right content in front of them. Sometimes you have to change the lists your contacts are a part of when your contacts' interests, behaviors, or engagement change:

Move an individual contact to a different list

Over time, a contact can end up on multiple contact lists. You can see exactly which lists an individual contact is on by viewing their contact record. From there, you have the option to remove the contact from a list, add the contact to another existing list, or create a new list to add the contact to.

  1. From the Contacts page, search for the contact you want to edit.
  2. Click on the contact's name to open their contact record.
Note: Clicking the Preview (eye icon) button opens the contact panel, which shows you limited information, like recent activity and email insights. From there, click the View full details button at the bottom of the panel to open the full contact record.

  2. Select the contacts you want to update from the search results.
  3. Click Actions > Add to list or Remove from list.
