Creating Opportunities from the Opportunity Manager

Opportunities help keep your sales data organized. In the Opportunity Manager your opportunities will be presented in a table format. Learn how to create new opportunities from the Opportunity Manager.

Opportunities are created and added to the Pipeline to monitor progress across deal stages in the sales process. 

You can track the estimated revenue, estimated close date, and the contacts included in a specific opportunity. In Lead Gen & CRM, opportunities are represented as cards in the Pipeline and can be easily moved to a different deal stage as the opportunity moves across the sales process timeline.

This article will show you how to create opportunities and edit existing opportunities from the Opportunity Manager.

Creating from the Opportunity Manager

You can create opportunities from the Opportunity Manager. To create opportunities, start from the Sales > Opportunity Manager page in the left toolbar.

  1. Click + Opportunity.

    Click + Opportunity

     

  2. Select either of the following:
     
     Option Description 
     Select a Contact 

    Uses a contact that already exists in the Contact Manager. Search for the contact by entering different contact fields.

     
     Create a New Contact Adds a new contact to the Contact Manager. Enter the relevant information into the contact fields. 

     
  3. Fill out the fields within the selected category. 
  4. Click Continue

    Click Continue

     

The opportunity drawer will appear. Make sure to fill out all required fields and then click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

If you do not see the opportunity in the Opportunity Manager after it has been created, double-check that you have saved the opportunity details correctly. 

Note: If you have saved your opportunity correctly but it still does not appear in the Opportunity Manager, try clearing your browser history. This will log you out of Lead Gen & CRM. Log back in and try again to create your opportunity.

 

Editing Opportunities

You can edit created opportunities as necessary. To edit opportunities, start from the Sales > Opportunity Manager page in the left toolbar.

  1. Locate the desired opportunity and click     Options > Edit.

    Click Options and choose Edit

     

  2. Edit notes, fields, and products as necessary in the Overview tab. 
  3. Add or edit tasks as necessary in the Tasks tab.
  4. Add, edit, or remove opportunity contacts as necessary in the Contacts tab.
  5. Review past communications or communicate with contacts in the Communications tab.
  6. Click Save

    Click Save
