Making Layout and Element Blocks Dynamic

When editing emails, you can customize and duplicate layout blocks and elements. This allows for flexibility and efficiency in your design. In this article, you'll learn how to make layout and element blocks within an email dynamic.

Note: Are you using the Overview of the New Email Editor? The new editor focuses on rendering and ease of use. To access the Dynamic Content feature of the older editor choose one of your existing emails or email templates. Keep reading to learn more about Dynamic Content in the older email editor.

Making Layout and Element Blocks Dynamic

If you have dynamic content enabled in the email, you can set individual layout blocks to dynamically change their displayed content based on the rules or personas set for the block.

To make a layout block dynamic, create or edit an email from the Email page in Lead Gen & CRM's left toolbar.

  1. In the Email Designer toolbar, click  bolt.png  Dynamic Content Rules.
  2. Add a rule group to the email.

    Click Add Dynamic Rules

     

  3. Select an existing rule or create a new dynamic rule group.
  4. Click Save if you've selected an existing rule. Click Create and Add Dynamic Content Rule to this Email if you've created a new rule.
     
    Note: Only a single dynamic rule or persona set can be active at a time for a layout block or element.

  5. In    bolt.png  Dynamic Content Rules, select your rule group and Build A New Segment.

  6. Define your segment.

  7. Hover over your layout block or element to click  bolt.png  Add a Rule Group to Make This Element Dynamic.
  8. Select your new Rule Group.

  9. Select the desired persona or rule entry from the list of available personas or rules.

  10. Edit the content for each of your segments. 
  11. Click the checkmark to close the segment. Repeat the process as needed. 
  12. Click Done.
  13. Click Save.

Note: Click  bolt.png  Add a Rule Group to Make This Element Dynamic > Revert to Default to remove the dynamic status for a layout block or element.
