Suggestions for figuring out why a webpage won't load or buttons aren't available

If you are experiencing connectivity issues, it can affect your Constant Contact account in a number of ways:

  • Inability to log in
  • Pages not loading or loading very slowly
  • Unsaved changes in the campaign editor
  • Buttons that are unresponsive, or are greyed out
  • Browser-related error messages when following your regular procedures, for example: 504, request entity too large, bad request gateway, page cannot display, etc...

If you see any of the following error messages, please follow the linked instructions:

Other issues can be resolved quickly with a little bit of troubleshooting that you can try yourself:

Check web browser compatibility

Make sure you are using a compatible web browser, and if your version is out of date, update it and then perform your task again.

You can also try opening the browser in safe or incognito mode to prevent your browser from storing cookies and site data, giving you a clean slate to work in temporarily. If the browser works in incognito, it's an indicator that you should clear your cache.

Try another web browser

If the updated browser doesn't resolve the issue, some browser add-ons and extensions can interfere with Constant Contact and need to be disabled. To confirm that the issue is with your primary browser, you can try installing a different compatible browser. If Constant Contact performs correctly in the new browser, the issue is likely an add-on or extension.

Check for computer operating system updates

It's important to keep your operating system up to date with security patches and bug fixes, not just for protection provided against cyber threats, but because your system performance can slow down when the program you're using isn't compatible with an older version of your operating system.

Clear your web browser's cache

Your browser's cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing in order to load pages faster. Often this cache loads old or outdated information and needs to be occasionally cleared to help websites run more smoothly. Clearing your cache also frees up space on your computer's hard drive if it's running low, which can also impact performance.
