Associating Social Posts with Campaigns

Link a social post to a Lead Gen & CRM campaign to see which leads are interacting with your social media posts

While creating a social post, tie it to an existing campaign. When leads click the link in the social media post, they will be added to the selected campaign.

Enabling Social Tracking

Tracking must turned on in a campaign's settings page in order to associate that campaign to a social post. To enable campaign tracking settings, create or edit a campaign:

  1. Scroll to the Social Tracking section and select the Allow social posts to be associated with this campaign checkbox.
  2. Configure the rest of the campaign as desired and then click Save Changes.

Associating Social Posts with Campaigns

Once campaign tracking settings are enabled, campaigns can be associated with social media posts. To associate social posts with campaigns, do the following:

 

  1. Click Content Calendar in the left toolbar.
  2. Click Create > Social Post.

  3. Create a post with a hyperlink that directs to a site tracked in Lead Gen & CRM.
  4. Click Add campaign.

  5. Select the campaign from the dropdown list.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. Choose a Post time: 
    • Post now - Schedules the social media post for immediate release.
    • Schedule for later - Schedules the social media post at a chosen date and time. 
  8. Optionally, select the toggle to notify a Lead Gen user for approval and choose the Lead Gen user from the drop-down.
  9. Click Post Now or Schedule

Important: Links in social posts must have one of the following at the start of a link to allow them to be associated with campaigns:
   •   https://
   •   http://
   •   www.

When leads click the link in that social media post, they will be added to the campaign that was selected for that post.
 



UTM Codes

Once submitted, the link in your post will automatically generate a UTM parameter behind the scenes. These UTM codes cannot be edited and can be viewed once you schedule the post and view it in the Content Calendar. 

If you have multiple UTM codes tied to multiple campaigns, then they will be evaluated in the following order:

  1. Google Ads
  2. Social
  3. Custom campaign tracking rules
