Troubleshooting connectivity and system issues

Article: 000006215
Updated: October 2, 2026

Determine if slow loading times, blank pages, unsaved changes, error messages, unresponsive buttons, or login issues are due to a system-wide outage or a local browser issue

If you're experiencing issues while trying to log in or use your Constant Contact account, there are troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check for known system outages

Before troubleshooting your local device or network, verify if Constant Contact is experiencing a service disruption:

  1. Visit status.constantcontact.com.
  2. Review the overall operational status of Constant Contact services.
  3. Click the + icon next to specific tool categories (such as Campaign Creation or Contact Management) to view localized status reports and recent incident logs.
Note: Additional details on reading and interpreting the Constant Contact Status page can be found in the following article: Using the Constant Contact Status page.

If an ongoing incident is listed on the status page, Constant Contact technicians are actively working to resolve it. No further troubleshooting on your local computer is required until the incident is resolved. You can receive real-time updates regarding planned maintenance or unexpected service disruptions via email, text message, Slack, or RSS feed by subscribing to system status notifications.

Troubleshoot local browser and network issues

If all systems on the Status page are marked as fully operational, the issue is likely caused by your local web browser, extensions, or device settings.

  1. Check that you're using a browser that is compatible with Constant Contact.
  • If the browser is supported: Proceed to using an incognito browser (step 2).
  • If the browser isn't supported: Please open Constant Contact in a supported browser.
  • For a complete list of supported browsers, please see: Web browsers supported by Constant Contact
  1. Open an incognito or private browsing window and log in to your Constant Contact account.
  • If the issue is resolved in private mode: A browser extension, plugin, or cached file is causing the problem. Proceed to clearing your cache (step 3).
  • If the issue persists in private mode: Try an alternative web browser or device (step 5).
  1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies. Web browsers store cached images and scripts to speed up loading times, but outdated cache files can prevent new data from loading correctly.
  • If the issue is resolved after clearing your cache:  You can proceed with using Constant Contact.
  • If the issue persists after clearing your cache: Proceed to disabling browser extensions or add-ons (step 4).
  • For help clearing cookies and cache in your browser, please see: Clear a web browser's cache.
  1. Disable browser extensions or add-ons. Certain browser extensions, such as ad blockers, security extensions, or custom script runners, can interfere with Constant Contact functions. It's best to disable all active extensions in your web browser, and then refresh Constant Contact to see if functionality returns. Then you can re-enable extensions one by one to identify which one is causing the conflict.
  • If the issue is resolved after disabling extensions: You can proceed with using Constant Contact.
  • If the issue persists after disabling extensions: Proceed to trying a different browser (step 5).
  1. Try an alternate, compatible web browser.

Resolve a specific error message

If you're seeing a specific error message, please view the relevant Knowledge Base article for steps to resolve the issue:

Check your operating system for updates

If your browser isn't the issue, ensure your computer's operating system (Windows or macOS) is up to date. Outdated operating system components can cause security certificate conflicts or degrade browser performance.

If you try all of these troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, please contact our Support Team for further assistance.
