Create a blog article with formatted text and images

Customize your blog article by adding text, formatting, and images. Access the article info panel to edit the blog title, slug, author, and category.

The Article Info Panel

The  newspaper.png  Article Info panel is where you can edit certain information pertaining to each article. The following is a breakdown of editable information and settings within the Article Info panel:
 

Setting Description
Title 

This will show up as a header or title of the blog article.

Slug 

This is the URL’s unique identifier for this article, and it will be
attached to your subdomain.

Author 

This is where you select an author from a list of all users.

Category 

This is the category for each article that will be selected in your
landing page.

 



The Media Panel

The  image.png  Media panel is where you can upload an image to represent the article and enter a description for the blog itself.
 



Content Editor: Menus and Toolbars

The Content Editor is a fully realized inline word processor. The Content Editor has several modifications available to customize text, images, media, and links.

The Edit Menu

The Edit menu provides basic options to edit text. From this menu, you can do the following:

  • Undo or redo changes 
  • Modify a button
  • Select all content 
  • Find and replace content


The Insert Menu

The Insert menu allows you to insert clickable links into the blog. Links can be attached to text, images, or media.

 

The Format Menu

The Format menu allows you to format the appearance of text. The available text appearance modifications are:
 

Setting Description
Bold Bolds the text.
Italic Italicizes the text.
Underline Sets the text to be underlined.
Strikethrough Adds a line through the text.
Superscript Sets the text to a miniature size and above nearby text.
Subscript Sets the text to a miniature size and below nearby text.
Clear
Formatting
 Clears all formatting from text.

 

The Media Menu

The Media menu allows you to insert text-based links that, when clicked, redirect to linked email addresses, landing page URLs, websites, social media pages, or audiovisual media.

 

The Text Enhancement Toolbar

The Text Enhancement toolbar houses modifiers for text. The available enhancements are as follows:
 

Setting Description
Text Color Modifies the selected text to appear as a specified color.
Text Background Color 

Modifies the selected text to have a specified color behind the text.

Fill Color 

Sets the background of the content block as a specified color. This
color appears behind all text, images, and media.

Format 

Modifies the formatting of the specified text. The Format menu has
the most common formatting styles available, including those for 
bolded and italicized text. 

Justification 

Sets the justification of the specified content. Justification determines
how content appears on a given line. Content can be set to appear on
the left, right, or center of a content block. Additionally, text can be
set as justified, which spreads it evenly across a given set of lines.

Table Inserts a custom table and allows for modification of table properties.
Bullet List 

Sets off in a bulleted list a specified set of text or content. Bullet
styles are predetermined through the list button. Bullets can be
indented by pressing the TAB key on the keyboard.  

Numbered
List
 

Sets off in a numbered list a specified set of text or content. Number
styles are predetermined through the list button. Numbers can be
indented by pressing the TAB key on the keyboard. 

Increase
Indent
 Increases the overall indent of a specified set of text or content.
Decrease
Indent
 Decreases the overall indent of a specified set of text or content.
Insert/Edit
Link
 Inserts a clickable web link. Clicking this button when selecting a link
will allow for the link to be edited.
Insert/Edit
Image
 Inserts an image. Clicking this button when selecting an image will
allow for the image's properties to be edited. 
Media Inserts media, such as web video. 
Source Code Opens the HTML viewer. The blog will be displayed in HTML code
format.

 

The Formats Menu

The Formats menu allows you to format the graphical appearance of text, linked material, and images.

 

The Paragraph Menu

The Paragraph menu provides a way to format text. The available formats transform text into a specific sized font with appropriate leading and kerning.

 

The Font Menu

The Font menu offers a selection of fonts to use in the email. The available fonts are the most common fonts available across the majority of browsers and computers.

 

The Font Size Menu

The Font Size menu provides a way to quickly change font size. The font sizes are predetermined, and they are set to best display across a variety of browsers and computers.
 


The Font Color Menu 

The Font Color menu allows you to modify the displayed color of text. A preset collection of color choices are available, and custom colors can be used.
 



Content Editor: Tables

The Table menu allows you to insert tables. Tables are an excellent way of structuring data into an easy-to-read, aesthetically pleasing format. Tables can be somewhat complex, however.
 

Inserting Tables

To insert a table, do the following: 

  1. Click where you want to place the table in the Content Editor.
  2. Click  layout7.png  Table > Table in the Content Editor's toolbar.
  3. Select the table's dimensions. 
  4. Drag the sides of the table to expand it.
     

Table Toolbar

The table toolbar contains buttons that modify the table. These buttons perform the most common tasks associated with the menu.

The available buttons on the toolbar are as follows:
 

Setting Description
Table
Properties
 A link to the list of table properties.
Delete Table Deletes the entire table.
Insert Row
Before
 Inserts a row above the currently selected cell.
Insert Row
After
 Inserts a row below the currently selected cell.
Delete Row Deletes the row the currently selected cell is part of.
Insert Column
Before
 Inserts a column to the left of the currently selected cell.
Insert Column
After
 Inserts a column to the right of the currently selected cell.
Delete Column Deletes the column the currently selected cell is part of.

 

Table Properties

To edit a table's properties after inserting the table, do the following:

  1. Click anywhere in the table.
  2. Click  layout7.png  Table > Table Properties in the Content Editor menu.
  3. Change table property parameters as needed.
  4. Click OK.

The available properties are as follows:
 

Setting Description
Width The overall width of the table (in pixels). Changing this number
changes how wide the table is, and not how wide individual cells are.
Height The overall height of the table (in pixels). Changing this number
changes how tall the table is, and not how tall individual cells are.
Cell Spacing The amount of gutter space (in pixels) all cells in the table have.
Cell Padding The amount of space (in pixels) between all cell contents and cell borders.
Border The thickness (in pixels) of the table borders.
Caption Adds space for caption text above the table.
Alignment The page alignment for the table as a whole.
Style The overall HTML style of the table.
Border Color The color (in hexadecimal value) of any borders associated with the table.

Color
 The color (in hexadecimal value) behind cell contents.

Image
 The image behind cell contents. Background images must be
uploaded from a computer.

Repeat
 

Whether or not the background image will repeat. Backgrounds may
repeat across either the X-axis or Y-axis. This feature is best used
for smaller images, or for those images that create a pattern when
repeated.

Size
 

The overall size of the background image. Menu options allow the
image to cover the entire table, be contained within the table, or be
manually adjusted.

 The width (in pixels) of the background image.

 The height (in pixels) of the background image.
