Understand the four different template types
The weekly email templates are designed to help you stay engaged with your prospects, without having to put an enormous amount of effort into coming up with new content. You can create from scratch every week, or copy each email to get them out the door even faster!
Week 1: Market stats of the month - This template is designed to show off your market savvy in the communities you work in and in the broader market in general. Give your take on market performance, and highlight your recent closings and current offerings.
Week 2: Restaurant of the month - This template is designed to show off how well you know the communities you work in. Give a brief description of your dining experience in your favorite places, or even highlight restaurants that are new to the area, and offer a chance to win a gift card to the restaurant too!
Week 3: Deal of the month - This template is designed to generate interest in your properties. Use it to showcase a single property that you want to sell.
Week 4: News of the month - This template is also designed to show off your knowledge of local events in your local market. Steer away from national news, and focus on community events and development projects that make your market a great place to live and work in!
Over time your prospects are going to get to know you through the personalized content within your emails.
Watch Ricky Carruth walk you through how he uses the four weekly email templates, plus Ricky gives live coaching tips:
Find the weekly email templates in your Constant Contact account
Creating your first weekly email is quick and easy! Just select the template you want to use, follow the instructions in the yellow boxes to update the templates with your content, and repeat!
Design tip: Before you begin, make sure that you fill out your organization information and add your logo to your account settings so that the information can be automatically pulled into the template placeholders for you!
Click Marketing channels> All campaigns.
Click the Create a campaign button.
Click Email.
At the top of the template picker, click on the tab with your organization's name.
Click the Zero to diamond weekly option.
Place your cursor over the template you want to select and click Select.
Now you're ready to customize the content!
Customize a weekly template
The beauty of the four weekly templates is that they come with built-in instructions and the information from your settings is automatically pulled into placeholders within the template! All you have to do is customize the content for your market.
Customize the headers and text content in your email. Following the directions in the yellow blocks will help you stay focused on each weekly email's singular purpose. Note: There are placeholders built into your template that automatically pull your organization information from your account settings. If a placeholder is deleted by mistake, you can undo your last action or you can add the placeholder back in by using the Insert option in the Text toolbar to add your account details.
People will read your email just to find your new listings, so update all of the links in your email to point to your website. Don't have a website? You can even use links created through your MLS. Don't forget to update your social icons too!
Fonts - Change the fonts and link fonts throughout your entire email.
Buttons - Customize the button design in your email.
Did you know? Enabling click segmentation in your emails lets you put all the people who click on a specific link in your email on a unique list. Then you can engage with them based on their interest!
Once your email content and branding is complete:
Preview and test - Preview your email and send a test email to make sure everything looks the way you expect before you send it to your contacts.
Share on Social- Share the permanent URL on your social media profiles to reach an even wider audience.
Check your reporting - Give your email some time and then check your reporting to see how it's performing.
Create an email Archive - Add the permanent URL for each of the emails you send to a dedicated section of your website so that visitors can view your content. Make sure to add a website sign-up form to this section too so you can capture new contacts! Example: See all of Ricky’s recent emails hosted on his website. These are emails that were actually created by Ricky and sent to all of his clients.
Did you know? You can't send your email unless you have contacts in your account. The fastest way is to get them in there is to format your file to prevent errors, and then import your contacts.

We have several tools that can help you capture contacts online that actually want to be part of your email list:
Website sign-up form - Your website is the best place to have a sign-up form because the people who visit your website are deliberately seeking your out!
Sign-up landing page - A standalone sign-up page is a great tool for linking in your social media bios. Create a unique form for each social media platform so you can customize the content specifically for that audience.
Facebook Lead Ad - Customize your ad through Constant Contact, choose a list in your Constant Contact account to add new leads to when they click the "Sign Up" button, then select your budget, and share your ad on Facebook and Instagram.
