Add a border around your email template

Add an outer border to your email template and customize the width and color

Some email templates have a border around the outside of them by default—if the template you chose doesn’t have one, it's pretty easy to add one too. Borders also have style options, and if you have more than one section in your email template, each section can be styled globally so they're all the same, or independently so that they stand out from each other.

  1. While creating your email, click the Design tab.
  2. Click the Backgrounds & Borders section to expand it.
  3. Next to the Outer Border option, use the arrows to change the width of the outer border. The border isn't visible until the border thickness is at least 1 pixel wide.

  4. Click on the color swatch to choose a color for the outer border, or click Advanced to enter a specific hex value.
Design tip: If you want to match your brand colors exactly but aren't sure of the hex value, make sure to update the BrandKit within your account to add "Saved Colors" to the color palette, or use a color picker, such as Color Cop or Color Schemer Online, to find them.

  5. Place your cursor over a section in your template and click Section > Edit (pencil icon) on the right-hand side of the page.
Note: Your email can have more than one section, and each section has + signs at the top and bottom to help you identify which section you're actively editing. Each section can be styled independently.
  6. Click the Borders section to expand it and customize the:
  • Border style to add embellishment.
  • Border thickness for each side, independently.
  • Corner radius to add roundness to your border corners.
  • Color of the border.

Light Bulb IconDesign tip: Did you know you can also change the global colors for your template so that they're consistent through your entire email too?
