Google Analytics Overview

Google Analytics is a service for web analytics. The service measures, tracks, and reports how users find your content, your overall advertising performance, website traffic, email conversions, and other data. Google Analytics does so by way of a tracking code that is placed on every web page or email. This tracking code then interacts with another set of codes on Google's servers to provide information on how a user interacts with your content.

Refer to Google's documentation on the service for an in-depth look and more information on Google Analytics.

Analytics Parameters

The utm_source=sharpspring parameter is included by default on all hyperlinks in emails sent from Lead Gen & CRM. This allows for customers to automatically track traffic from Lead Gen & CRM emails within Google Analytics.

The utm_source parameter is necessary for tracking the source of email clicks with Google Analytics. This parameter, along with a designated value, will be globally applied to all links in emails sent through the Lead Gen & CRM platform.
