Understanding User Interaction

Users who choose to use both ad blocking software and supplementary filtering lists willingly compromise their full web experience in favor of an excessively high level of ad blocking and anonymity. The users of these tools are also aware of their functionality, and can toggle the blocking capability on and off manually, or set specific sites as trusted, which allows all services on the site they are visiting to work properly. Often, users of these tools will visit a site, see that content they are interested in is not rendering properly, and will chose to either temporarily or permanently disable the ad blocking software for that site. As always, the best practice for website owners/operators is to create valuable, relevant content to encourage this behavior.

Ad Blocker Impacts

Currently, only a small fraction of web visitors use ad blocking software. Fewer still install and use the optional list extensions to extend these tools to block marketing services like Lead Gen & CRM. In general, these ad blockers do not impact the Lead Gen & CRM platform in a meaningful way.

However, a small percentage of web visitors who are using an ad blocking tool and optional supplementary filters may report an inability to see Lead Gen & CRM forms on websites. These supplementary filters are rarely installed and enabled. If they are enabled, the filters could affect Lead Gen & CRM form rendering and tracking, as well as nearly all other similar third-party services, including Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, AdRoll, and HubSpot.

Refer to the following external supplementary filter list for a more comprehensive list of services that are potentially affected by ad blocking software.
