Setting Global Merge Variables

Global merge variable settings apply to every email that you send with Lead Gen & CRM. Global merge variables populate in the unsubscribe address, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act.

By default, the from name and from email address entered in the settings page will automatically be applied to every email sent from every user in your instance of Lead Gen & CRM.

 

Users:
Administrators 
Company Managers 
Marketing Managers 
Sales Managers  
Salespersons  
Jr. Salespersons  


Setting Variables

You can modify merge variable settings as necessary.

To modify settings for merge variables within emails, do the following:

  1. Click Settings in the left toolbar.
  2. Click Company Email Settings, located under Features in the left panel.
  3. Click the Global Merge Variables tab.
  4. In the Value fields, enter the following information:
    • Important: These value fields must be filled out for custom merge variables to work.
      • From Email
      • From Name
      • Company Address
      • Company City
      •  Company Country
      • Company State
      • Company Zip Code
  5. Click Save Changes.

    Add Values to Global Merge Variables

 

Up to 2500 characters can be entered into merge variable fields.

Note: Global merge variable settings can be overwritten in the email designer.



Adding Custom Variables

You can add custom variables to your collection of available merge variables.

To add custom variables, do the following: 

  1. Click Settings in the left toolbar.
  2. Click Company Email Settings, located under Features in the left panel.
  3. Click the Global Merge Variables tab.
  4. Click Add Custom Variable.
  5. Enter the variable name in the Name text box.
  6. Enter the variable's displayed merge variable in the Merge Variable text box.
  7. Enter the variable's value in the Value text box.
  8. Click Save.

Up to 2500 characters can be entered into merge variable fields.
Note: Click  12close.png  Remove to remove unwanted custom variables. Sending and compliance variables cannot be removed.
