Spend a little time with your account in order to get big results later

Investing a little time in your Constant Contact account can make things so much easier for you down the line. There are multiple sections of your account where you can save time, so check out each one and see what you could be doing to increase your productivity and your marketing results!

Account information

  • Pay for your account ahead of time - By prepaying for your Constant Contact account using a credit card or PayPal, it automatically renews when your balance is low. This allows you to keep your focus on marketing without having to worry about generating an invoice and manually sending a check every 6 or 12 months.
  • Verify additional email addresses - In your account, verify additional email addresses that you want to use as your "From" email address ahead of time, so you won't have to do it when you go to send your emails.
  • Fill out your organization details - Your organization's industry will help us provide you with more specific marketing tips, tools, and services to help you get the most out of your account.

Email

  • Create a master template - Creating a master template might take a little time to do. However, adding your logo, links, social media icons, and other elements you plan on having in every email ahead of time, will make it easier when it's time to add your actual content.
  • Add your logo - By adding your logo to your account settings, you won't have to go to the Library to find your logo every time you create a campaign. If your template has a logo block, it'll be automatically inserted at the top. If your template doesn't have a logo block, just drag it into place.
Image DescriptionWant help designing a logo? If you're having trouble designing the perfect logo, then leave it to us! With our Custom Logo Service, we'll provide you with three logo proofs, and one round of revisions of your logo proof of choice. Give your organization a fresh branding that will have your customers remembering exactly who you are at first glance!
  • Organize emails with folders - Breaking your emails up into folders will make it easier to find them when you need them. This works especially well when you put your master template into a folder on its own, so it's always easy to find.
  • Start in Constant Contact - Don't create your email in an outside program, like Microsoft Word, or you'll have to spend the time recreating it in Constant Contact. Don't make extra work for yourself!

Contacts

  • Create lists - Creating your lists ahead of time sets the stage for strong contact management down the line. As your list grows, keep it segmented and targeted to help increase engagement with your campaigns.
  • Use tags - Using tags will also help with keeping your lists segmented. You can tag contacts with certain interests, location, age, anything you want. Use tags to send targeted campaigns or help keep your contacts organized.
  • Use an app or integration - There are a lot of programs that have integrations with Constant Contact. If you have your contacts stored in a program like Outlook or Gmail, we have integrations to get your contacts imported quickly and easily. Check the Integrations tab to see if we have an integration for your specific program.
  • Customize your sign-up form - Make your sign-up form recognizable to your contacts. Add your logo, and select the information you want to collect from your contacts. Try and keep your sign-up form brief. The longer the form, the less likely people are going to fill it out.
  • Embed your sign-up form - After you've customized your sign-up form, embed it on your website. Once it's embedded, your contacts will be able to sign-up for your mailing list in the place where they visit you the most.
ImportantImportant: Make sure you have permission to send email to your contacts. Having permission to email your contacts is not only required but also helps improve your brand reputation and increase deliverability rates.

Library

  • Upload images - Make sure you add an image description to images. Descriptions help contacts that don't allow images to display, get a better idea of what the image would have been if they could see it.
  • Add images to folders - Use Folders in Library to make finding your images quicker. Break images out by event, location, holiday, logo, the choice is yours. By having images stored in folders, it makes it easier to find the exact image you're looking for.
