Account restrictions for the Campaign Creator user role

When a user has been added to a Constant Contact account as a Campaign Creator role, they have very specialized access and can perform very specific tasks.

Campaign Creators can:

  • Create and edit emails.
  • Create automated email series.
  • Send test emails.
  • Create social posts.
  • Create and edit SMS campaigns.
  • Create events and event-related emails.
  • Create and edit Survey Pages, Lead Generation Landing Pages, and Custom Landing Pages.
  • View Facebook Lead Ads.
  • View Facebook and Instagram Ads.
  • View reporting on the Campaigns tab and on the Details page for a campaign.
  • Upload and edit images in the Library.

Campaign Creators cannot:

  • Schedule or send emails.
  • Publish Event campaigns.
  • Edit published campaigns or running Events.
  • Edit or activate an automated email series.
  • Schedule or send social posts.
  • Schedule or send SMS campaigns.
  • Publish or unpublish landing pages.
  • Delete or remove campaigns.
  • Access campaign reporting through the Reporting tab.
  • Click to view deeper reporting through the Details page for a campaign.
  • Purchase stock images or Plus Campaigns.
  • Delete images from the Library.
  • Access the Contacts tab or view, add, or delete contacts, lists, or tags.
  • Create segments.
  • Access sign-up forms.
  • Create Facebook Lookalike Audiences.
  • Create, publish, edit, or unpublish Facebook Lead Ads.
  • Create, publish, edit, or unpublish Facebook and Instagram Ads.
  • Create, publish, edit, or unpublish Google Ads.
  • View billing activity or account settings.

If you're attempting to do any of the above activities and are seeing a grayed-out button or getting an error message, it could be because you were assigned the role of Campaign Creator. To check and see if the login credentials you're using have been assigned a role, click the profile icon in the lower-left - or the three dots if you have the left-hand menu enabled - and click Account settings. Look for the user role at the top of the screen:

Either the Account Owner or an Account Manager has permission to select lists and send a campaign once it's ready to go. Permission to change the user role is only available to the Account Owner.
