Understanding the permissions needed to sync your social media account for Social Posts and Monitoring or Facebook and Instagram Ads

When you integrate your social accounts with Constant Contact, you're asked to grant us permissions that let us pull data from you social account, so that you can create and publish Social Posts, Facebook and Instagram ads, and TikTok ads, and then monitor their performance, all from one place.

Permissions that we ask for

When you connect your social media profiles to Constant Contact there are a several permissions that we need in order for you to use our social features. We only ask for the permissions we absolutely need for our social features to function properly. Please note that each social platform words these permissions differently.

General social permissions

  • Access to your social media accounts to pull in your user name, profile picture, and other account data so that you can recognize your profiles within your Constant Contact account.
  • Retrieve reporting and engagement data so you can tell how your social posts and ads are performing in your Constant Contact account.

Social post permissions for Facebook and Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok

  • Access to your social accounts to publish posts on your behalf, but only when you schedule them.
  • Retrieve your posts and comments so you can review and respond to them through your Constant Contact account.

Ads permissions for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok

  • Access to your social account to publish ads or lead ads on your behalf, but only when you schedule them.
  • Access to your Facebook Ad Manager account or TikTok Ad Account Manager, so that you can select the account you want to use with your ad and manage payment without having to leave your Constant Contact account.

When you connect your social accounts to Constant Contact, you must review the permissions and consent to them:

Exclamation Point IconImportant: To fully disconnect your Constant Contact account from your social media profiles, you must also disconnect your social profiles from within your Constant Contact account.
