Edit a segment of contacts

Article: 000025794
Updated: February 21, 2025

Add or remove contact activity, list membership, contact details, and tag criteria filters to increase or decrease the number of contacts in a previously created segment

Once you've created a segment you can always edit it so that you're capturing just the right amount of contacts. Complex filter combinations work better if you have a large number of contacts in your account. When you have a smaller contact list, keep your filters simple so you don't end up filtering your segment down to zero contacts.

  1. In the menu on the left-hand side, click Contacts > Segments.
  2. In the Segments you've created section, click . . . > Edit Criteria next to the segment you want to edit.

Review the list of contacts that is returned based on your updated filters. You can edit your filters as many times as you need until you find the right mix for your segment.
