Change the DPI (Dots Per Inch) scaling or screen resolution settings to prevent stretching and distortion when reading an email in Outlook

If you've sent an email with images and are receiving complaints that the images appear distorted or stretched, and you've followed our suggested image size guidelines, it's likely not something you did when creating the email. The issue is most likely due to the DPI (Dots Per Inch) scaling settings on the computer where the email is being read, and it usually affects Outlook users.

The DPI scaling or screen resolution settings control the size of the font, desktop icons, and applications on your desktop. A lower DPI setting makes things appear smaller, and a larger setting makes them appear larger. If what your contacts see on their computer monitors isn't clear, have them try changing their display settings. Choosing a display appearance of "Smaller" or "100%" yields the best results:
