Change the language of the non-editable text in your campaigns and account

Article: 000005982
Updated: February 28, 2025

Update the language used in sections of campaigns and account tools that can't be edited

There are areas both in campaigns and in various contact-facing tools that aren't available for editing. However, the language used in these areas can still be altered through your account settings.

Areas changed by the language setting

The Language setting in your account affects the following areas within Constant Contact:

  • The footer text of your campaigns
  • The email privacy policy that appears in the footer
  • The buttons on web sign-up forms

As an industry mark, the term "Unsubscribe" will not be translated. When a customer clicks on the "Unsubscribe" link, the pages that follow will be in the selected language.

Languages offered

Constant Contact allows for the following language choices:

  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • English
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Norwegian
  • Portuguese
  • Castilian Spanish
  • Latin American Spanish
  • Swedish

If you would like to see another language added, you can indicate that during the language changing process listed below.

Change the language

  1. Click on the profile icon in the lower-left, or the three dots if you have the left-hand menu expanded, and select Account settings.

Profile name with My Account dropdown option

  2. Scroll down to the Regional settings section and click Edit.

My Accoun, Other Settings, Regional Settings section, and Edit button

  3. Select the language you want to use from the drop-down.
  4. Click Save.

Regional Settings options, Language drop-down, and Save button

Changing the language of the account will not change the language in any existing campaigns.  To confirm that the language has changed, create a new campaign and check the footer. To change the language in an existing email, you can customize the footer within the email draft.
