Edit an active Survey Page

Make changes to a Survey Page after it’s been activated

Review your plan: This feature is not available in all Constant Contact plans. If you don’t have full access, you may need to upgrade your plan.

Already activated your Survey Page, but need to make some edits to the questions, design, or expiration date? You can easily pause it to make your changes, and then reactivate it to continue receiving responses.

The edits that can be made to a Survey Page

If your survey hasn't been activated yet or it has been activated but no responses have been received, you can make any needed edits to your Survey Page.

If you've already activated your survey and and started to receive responses, your edit options are more limited:

• You can:

• Update any of the Survey Page settings.
• Edit the question and answer text. 
• Add or remove images from the answer text.
• Rearrange the order of answer options.
• Change whether a question is required to answer or not.
• Copy a question.
• Delete a question.

• You can't:

• Add new questions.
• Add or remove answer options for an existing or copied question.
• Change a question’s type.

Did you know? When you edit an active Survey Page, the URL does not change automatically. You're able to make changes to the Custom URL in the Page settings, but this breaks the URL if you've already shared it. If you do make changes, don't forget to replace the URL anywhere you've already shared it

How to find and edit your Survey Page

1. In the menu on the left-hand side, click Audience > Surveys, or click Marketing channels > Survey.
2. (Optional) Use the Status and Sort By filters to narrow your search.
3. Next to the Survey Page you want to edit, click . . . > Edit.
   
   
    
4. In the Edit Survey overlay, click the Edit button.
   Important: Your Survey Page is deactivated and put in a "paused" status while you make your edits. If you already shared the URL for your survey, anyone who tries to access the URL receives a message that the survey is no longer active until you reactivate it.
   
   
   
   
5. Use the Build, Images, or Design tabs to update your layout, content, and branding.
6. Click anywhere on the survey questions within the editor to change question and answer text or delete questions.
   Note: If you've already received responses for your survey, you can't change the type of questions, add new answers to existing questions, or add new questions.
7. Once you’re finished making edits, give your survey a preview and then click the Activate button to make your updated survey live.
   
   
   
   

After your Survey Page is reactivated it continues to receive responses, and your survey reporting is updated to reflect the current changes. If you deleted a question that already had a response, you still see it in your reporting.
