Import your Salesforce contacts manually without using an API or plug-in by exporting them from Salesforce

If you'd rather not use the Constant Contact for Salesforce integration to transfer your Salesforce contacts, you can bring them into Constant Contact manually. Export them from Salesforce and then import them into Constant Contact:

  1. Open Salesforce and click Reports.
  2. Choose your report folder from the left-side menu.
  3. Click the report you want to export.

Selecting contact list from a report folder in the Reports tab

  4. In the upper-right, click the arrow to expand the drop-down and select Export.

Expanded Edit dropdown menu with Export

  5. Select the Formatted Report option.
  6. From the Format drop-down, select Excel Format .xls or Comma Separated Value Format .csv.
  7. Click Export.

Formatted Report and Details Only button options above the Format dropdown field and blue Export button

Save the exported file and open it. Format the file to ensure the contact fields match up before importing it into Constant Contact.
