Allow Constant Contact to publish to your social media accounts

Understanding the permissions needed to sync your social media account for Social Posts and Monitoring or Facebook and Instagram Ads

When you integrate your social accounts with Constant Contact, you're asked to grant us permissions that let us pull data from you social account, so that you can create and publish Social Posts and Facebook and Instagram ads, and then monitor their performance, all from one place. 

 

Permissions that we ask for

When you connect your social media profiles to Constant Contact there are a several permissions that we need in order for you to use our social features:

General social permissions

  • Access to your social media accounts to pull in your user name, profile picture, and other account data so that you can recognize your profiles in your Constant Contact account.
  • Retrieve reporting data so you can tell how your Social Posts and ads are performing in your Constant Contact account.

Social Posts and Monitoring permissions for Facebook and Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • Access to your social accounts to publish posts on your behalf, but only when you schedule them.
  • Retrieve your posts, comments, reactions, and other engagement data so you can review and respond to it through your Constant Contact account.

Facebook and Instagram Ads and Lead Ads permissions

  • Access to your Facebook account to publish ads or lead ads on your behalf, but only when you schedule them.
  • Access to your Ad Manager account, so that you can select the account you want to use with your ad and manage payment without having to leave your Constant Contact account.

We only ask for the permissions we absolutely need for our social features to function properly. Please note that each social platform words these permissions differently.

Review Facebook and Instagram permissions

Our integration with Facebook lets you create, publish, and monitor social posts, and create and manage ads and lead ads for Facebook and Instagram. Instagram accounts are connected to a Facebook page and all permissions are handled through Facebook.

To review the permissions you've granted in Facebook:

  1. From your Facebook Page, open the Account menu in the upper right-hand corner, and click Settings & Privacy.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. In the Settings menu, scroll down and click Business Integrations.
  4. Click the Active tab.
  5. Next to Constant Contact, click "View and edit."

  6. Review the enabled permissions, and click Save or Cancel when finished.
    Note: If you disable any of the permissions, you're asked to re-grant them the next time you access the Social tab in your Constant Contact account.

You can remove the Constant Contact app from Facebook at any time. This also removes any Instagram accounts that have been synced to Facebook Pages.

Review LinkedIn permissions

Our integration with LinkedIn lets you create and publish social posts to your LinkedIn personal profile or organization page.

To review the permissions you've granted in LinkedIn:

  1. From your LinkedIn account, click Me. Select "Settings & Privacy."

  2. Click Data privacy > Other applications.
  3. Next to Permitted services, click "Change."

  4. Under Constant Contact, review the enabled permissions.

You can remove the Constant Contact app from LinkedIn at any time.
