Create a Zap in order to generate a lead in Lead Gen & CRM when you create a new contact in Office 365

If you are using Office365 as your email client, you can create leads in Lead Gen & CRM when you create a new contact in Office365 via Zapier. This is not the same as Mail Sync, as only contacts will be synced, and not the content of your emails.

Syncing Applications

You can sync Office 365 and Lead Gen & CRM via Zapier.

To sync these platforms, do the following:

  1. Open a new tab in your browser and Log in to Office 365.
  2. Create a contact.
  3. Open another new tab in your browser and navigate to Zapier. Create or log in to a Zapier account.
  4. Click Make a Zap.
  5. Select Office365.
  6. Set the trigger as New Contact.
  7. Connect your Office365 account to Zapier.
  8. Select Lead Gen & CRM.
  9. Set the action as Create/Update Lead.
  10. Connect your Lead Gen & CRM account to Zapier.
  11. Click  zapierplus.png  Plus next to the input field.
  12. Select the appropriate field information.

Note: When mapping fields, fields should match. Email should populate Email, First Name to First Name, and the like. You can map both standard system fields or any custom field you have created.

Testing Zaps

Once data mapping is complete, testing the Zap is important. Incorrectly mapped Zaps will not function properly.

To test a Zap, do the following:

  1. Make a synced Zap.
  2. Follow the prompts in Zapier for testing.
  3. Confirm the data is sending to the appropriate fields in Lead Gen & CRM.
  4. Enter a name for the Zap.
  5. Click the Your Zap Is toggle to ON.
  6. Return to the Office 365 browser tab.
  7. Create a contact with the following information:
    Value Information
    FirstName Office365
    LastName Test
Email Enter a dummy email address
  8. Return to the Zapier browser tab and navigate to your Zapier dashboard.
  9. Next to the desired Zap, click  caret-down.png  Options > Run.
  10. Open a new tab in your browser and log in to Lead Gen & CRM in that browser tab.
  11. Click Contacts > Contacts in the top toolbar.
  12. Click Sort by > Created.

By default, the Zap will run every 15 minutes to look for new contacts created in Office365. If contacts have been created, they will be sent into Lead Gen & CRM as leads.
