The Year-In-Review page

Differences between the data in your Year-In-Review page and your account reporting

Once a year, during the week of your anniversary as a Constant Contact customer, we provide a Year-In-Review page in your account so that you can see how your emails did over the rolling year.
Note: In order to access the Year-In-Review page, you need to have passed your one-year anniversary and have at least 5 emails sent in the past 12 months that were to 5 or more people.

The page is a static snapshot of the previous 12 months, based on your anniversary date, not on the calendar year. The numbers in your reporting won't always match the data you see on the Year-In-Review page because of the date you're comparing them and the email activity that's happened since the Year-In-Review page was generated:

  • Number of campaigns - This only includes emails created during the rolling year. If you've created any other types of campaigns, or if you've sent emails after we've already pulled the data for your Year-In-Review page, or if you've sent an email to less than 5 contacts, they aren't counted.
  • Total emails sent - This counts the number of contacts that each email was sent to over the course of the rolling year, excluding any bounces.
  • Your average open rate - The rate is aggregated to include all of your emails, while your account reporting gives you individual rates for each of your emails. In addition, if you sent an email to less than 5 contacts, or if opens occur after we've already pulled your data for your Year-In-Review page, it won't display on the page, while the data continues to update in your account reporting.
  • Your average click rate - The rate is averaged together and includes all the unique clicks from all of your sent emails during the rolling year. Your account breaks down your clicks by the individual email. If clicks occur after we've already pulled your data for your Year-In-Review page, or if you've sent an email to less than 5 contacts, they won't be counted.
  • Total emails sent - If you sent an email to less than 5 contacts, or you sent an email after we've already pulled the data for your Year-In-Review page, it isn't counted in this total.
  • Your top performers - This shows the emails that generated the most click engagement through the course of the rolling year.
  • Best time to send - This shows the best time to send in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) time. (UTC time is the common standard of time used across the world and doesn't factor in time zones.) The time and date in your account are based on your local time.
  • Your contact list grew - This section only appears if you have a net growth in contacts compared to the number of contacts you had 12 months ago, based on the rolling year. If you add contacts after the data has already been pulled for the Year-In-Review page, they aren't included.
  • Email opens by device - This includes the average of all your email opens in the past rolling year, while your account reporting only displays the average for the last 5 emails and changes with each send.
  • Your biggest fans - The reporting in your account shows you which contacts opened your emails, but this looks at all your campaigns and shows you overall who was the most engaged with all your emails over the course of the rolling year.
