Constant Contact works in one web browser and not another

How to disable 3rd party add-ons that could affect how Constant Contact works in a browser

If you encounter an issue where Constant Contact works in one web browser but not another:

  1. Make sure that the browser you are using is compatible with Constant Contact.
  2. Disable any 3rd party web browser add-on programs that have been installed. Disabling one or more of these programs may resolve the issue.

 


Windows: Chrome (Auto Updates)

  1. Use the shortcut key combination Ctrl+Shift+N to open an Incognito or Safe Mode Window. An incognito window is considered to be running Chrome in "Safe mode."
  2. Close all other previously opened Chrome windows that are not Incognito.
  3. In the this new Incognito window, go to https://www.constantcontact.com.
    Note: If you have enabled any extensions to work in Incognito Mode, you will have to disable them. (Click the Chrome menu User-added image on the browser toolbar. Select More tools > Extensions. On the Extensions page, check to ensure that the slider next to each extension is set to disabled rather than enabled.)
  4. Log into your account.

Windows: Edge

To launch InPrivate mode:

  1. Right-click on the Edge logo in your taskbar or search for Edge in the taskbar's Search field.
  2. Click "New InPrivate Window."

 

To disable extensions:

  1. Click the Settings and more icon (...) in the upper right-hand corner of the browser.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Under the extension you want to remove, click "Remove."
  4. Click Remove to confirm the action.

Windows: Firefox

To launch in Safe Mode, click Help > Restart with Add-ons disabled.

To disable one add-on at a time:

  1. In the browser window, click Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions.
  2. Select an add-on and click Disable.
  3. Close all previously opened Firefox windows.
  4. Open a new browser window with add-ons disabled.
  5. In the new window, go to https://www.constantcontact.com.
  6. Log into your account.

Mac: Chrome

  1. Use the shortcut key combination -Shift-N to open an Incognito Window.
  2. Close all other previously opened Chrome windows that are not Incognito.
  3. In the new Incognito window, go to https://www.constantcontact.com.
    Note: If you have enabled any extensions to work in Incognito Mode, you will have to disable them. (Click the User-added image Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. Select More tools > Extensions. On the Extensions page, check to ensure that the slider next to each extension is set to disabled rather than enabled.
  4. Log into your account.

Mac: Firefox

To launch in Safe Mode:

  1. Close Firefox (all windows).
  2. Hold down the Option key as you launch Firefox.
  3. In the new window with add-ons disabled, go to https://www.constantcontact.com.
  4. Log into your account.

 

To disable one add-on at a time:

  1. In the browser window, click Tools > Add-Ons > Extensions.
  2. Select an add-on and click Disable.
  3. Close Firefox (all windows).
  4. Relaunch Firefox. 
  5. In the new Firefox window, select Quit from the Firefox menu.
  6. Hold down the Option key as you re-open Firefox.
  7. Use this new window to go to https://www.constantcontact.com.
  8. Log into your account.

 

Exclamation Point IconImportant: After launching Firefox in Safe Mode, once you restart, it will open up normally with all add-ons enabled.

Mac: Safari

For Safari, you first need to go into Private Browsing to see if that resolves the issue:

  1. Click on the File menu, then choose New Private Window.
  2. You are now Private Browsing and can tell by the "Private Browsing Enabled" banner displayed below the address bar.​​​​​
  3. Go to https://www.constantcontact.com. If the site loads properly, it means you'll need to disable extensions in regular browsing mode.

 

To view and turn off extensions:

  1. Click on the Safari menu, then choose Preferences.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. For each extension listed, uncheck the checkbox.
