Enable your logo to display in your contacts' inboxes

Stand out in the inbox by setting up BIMI

Ever notice how some brands' logos appear right next to their emails in your inbox? If you have your own domain, you can set up BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) to enable your organization’s logo to be displayed in your contacts’ inboxes, too.

Note: BIMI is not supported in all email clients, and setting it up requires technical knowledge of your domain settings. Constant Contact is unable to assist you with implementation.

To set up BIMI, there are a few main steps you’ll need to follow. For more detailed instructions and information, please view the official BIMI Group implementation guide.

  1. Authenticate your emails - All email sent from your domain must be DMARC aligned, which helps to protect against spoofing and phishing, and your DMARC policy must be set to p=quarantine or p=reject. To send email from your domain with Constant Contact, you’ll need to set up self-authentication in your account.
  2. Create an SVG Tiny PS version of your logo - Your logo needs to be in an SVG Tiny PS format, which is a secure, scalable vector graphic format. You may need a graphic designer to help you create this file.
  3. Get your logo certified - While some email providers will display non-certified logos if you have a good email sending reputation, it’s recommended that you get your logo certified with a Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) or Common Mark Certificate (CMC) for broader support.
  4. Publish a BIMI record in your DNS settings - The final step is to publish a BIMI record in your domain's DNS settings. This is a line of text that tells email clients where to find your logo:
    default._bimi.[domain] IN TXT “v=BIMI1; l=[SVG URL]; a=[PEM URL]

Once successfully implemented, email clients that support BIMI will display your logo along with your email header in the recipient’s inbox.
