Check the processing status of a Facebook Lookalike Audience for a Facebook and Instagram Ad or Lead Ad

When you create a new Lookalike Audience while you're creating a new Facebook and Instagram Ad or Lead Ad, it can take Facebook between three and six hours to process it. You can check the status of your Lookalike Audience and ad from the Ad Details page.

  1. Click Audience growth ... > Ads.

  2. Click the name of the scheduled ad you want to review.

Campaigns tab with Scheduled Facebook and Instagram Ad name selected

  3. Check the status in the upper left-hand corner.

Facebook and Instagram Ad Details page in scheduled status with "Processing target audience. Your ad will be posted when it's done!" banner message

If your Lookalike Audience is still processing, a banner appears at the top of the screen and your ad stays in "Scheduled" status. Once Facebook has finished processing your audience, your ad is officially published, the status changes to "Active," and the banner is removed.

You can also check the status and view the details of your Lookalike Audience by logging into your Facebook Ads Manager account and viewing the Audiences section.
