The recommended way to connect an Instagram Business account to Ready Social requires you to have it connected to a Facebook profile. However, even if you do not have a Facebook account connected to your Instagram Business account, you can still manage it using Ready Social.

This guide will walk you through two methods for connecting your Instagram Business account to Ready Social.

    2. Via Instagram

Which Method of Connecting an Instagram Business Account is Better?

Between the two methods of connecting Instagram to Ready Social, different users might have varied preferences. The recommended path is to connect to Instagram via Meta Business Suite, which requires a Facebook account. Having an established connection to Meta Business Suite provides users with better access to advanced business and marketing tools, including analytics and scheduling.

However, you might be an individual creator or a small Instagram-based business that prefers a standalone, uncomplicated Instagram experience and doesn’t want to connect a Facebook account.

In that case, you can choose the second option to connect your Instagram Business account directly to Ready Social without having to create a new Facebook account. Thanks to Ready Social, you will be able to access many advanced features, such as a social inbox and analytics, without the need for Meta Business Suite.

Note: If you connect your Instagram Business account to Ready Social directly without the intervention of Meta Business Suite or Facebook, you cannot manage Social Inbox engagement within Ready Social.

Prerequisites for Connecting an Instagram Business Account

There are a few requirements for connecting your Instagram Business account to Ready Social via Meta Business Suite. Ensure that these conditions are met before proceeding with the connection.

Here are the prerequisites:

  • Your Instagram profile should be a Business/Creator account. Having a personal account will restrict you from having access to many advanced capabilities, like direct publishing.
  • Your Instagram Business account must be connected to a Facebook page. Learn how to connect your accounts in this guide if they are not already linked.
  • You must have an admin role on the Facebook page associated with your Instagram Business account. To check your role, go to the Facebook page, click on Settings, and then select Page Roles.

💡How to Connect Your Instagram Business Profile With Your Facebook Page

  1. Open your Instagram Business account on your phone and go to your profile page.
  2. Click on Edit Profile, and in the following menu that appears, select Pages.
  3. On the pop-up that appears, select Connect to the existing Page.
  4. You will now be able to see your Facebook Pages. Select the relevant one and click on Done. Give the final permissions to confirm your choice.

That’s all it takes to link your Instagram Business account to your Facebook Page.

💡How to Convert Your Personal Account Into a Professional Account

  1. Go to your profile, then to Settings and Privacy.
  2. Scroll down and click on 'Account type and tools,' then select 'Switch to a professional account.'
  3. Select a category that best describes your business, then choose 'Business'.

You are all set – you've got an Instagram business account.

However, these requirements don't apply to you if you plan to connect a standalone Instagram Business account to Ready Social without having a Facebook connection.

The only things you need in the second scenario are:

  • An Instagram Business/Creator account.
  • Login credentials for the Instagram account.
