Introduction

Each social media platform has unique image dimension requirements. If the images you want to schedule exceed the platform's limitations, Ready Social automatically optimizes them to ensure your posts are published smoothly. However, if the image dimensions are incompatible with the selected platforms, Ready Social will display an error message: “Incorrect image dimension.”

To resolve this issue, you can either resize your image to fit the platform's specifications or crop it to the appropriate aspect ratio. Ready Social offers built-in tools for both solutions, eliminating the need for an external editor.

Cropping an Image on Ready Social

Let us see how you can crop an image on Ready Social:

1. Compose your post by adding text and uploading images.
2. Select the accounts for posting.
3. If an image doesn’t meet the platform's criteria, a red dot will appear next to the relevant platform tab, and an error message will prompt you to fix it.

4. Click Edit next to the error message under the image.

   

5. The image editor will open with the Crop menu selected by default.

6. Choose a predefined aspect ratio or select the Custom option to manually crop the image. Adjust the image within the frame to focus on the desired area.

   

   After cropping, if the image still doesn’t meet the platform's requirements, another error message will be shown. You can undo, redo, or revert all the changes.

   • Undo: Reverses the last change.
   • Redo: Restores the undone change.
   • Revert: Restores the image to its original state, removing all edits.

7. Once cropping is complete and no further errors are shown, click Done to finalize the edits and schedule your post.

Resizing an Image on Ready Social

Follow the steps below to resize an image on Ready Social and get rid of those error messages:

1. Upload your image in the post composer and click the edit icon to open the image editor.

2. Select the Resize option from the left-hand side menu below the Crop tool. The current width and height of the image will be displayed at the bottom of the image preview.

   

3. Adjust the width or height values to resize the image. The aspect ratio will automatically adjust unless you unlock it.

4. Clicking the lock icon between the width and height fields will maintain the current aspect ratio while allowing you to change the dimensions.

   

5. After resizing, click Done to apply the changes.
