Manually Completing Conversion Goals

You can manually trigger conversion events that will show in a contact's Life of the Lead. To manually trigger a conversion event, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Campaigns > Conversions section in the left toolbar.

    Conversion Goals

  2. Ensure that you have created a conversion goal. Click the Conversion Goals tab in the Campaign section of Lead Gen & CRM.

Here, we'll check the details of our conversion goal. In this example, I'll use the "Associated With $380 Opportunity" goal.

    Check Conversion Goals

  3. Our goal is completed when a contact is associated with a goal, that has a value of $380. Let's navigate to Sales > Opportunities to manually complete our goal.

Creating Conversion Automation

Since conversion goals are custom fields, they can be set as a trigger in a visual workflow or an opportunity workflow. This allows conversion events to automatically trigger when specific conditions are met. In addition, these events will show up in a contact's Life of the Lead.

To create automation with conversion goal triggers, do the following:

  1. Click Automation > Visual Workflows in the left toolbar.

  2. Create a new workflow, edit an existing visual workflow, or edit an existing opportunity workflow.

    Click blue Create button

  3. Within the workflow, click plus sign to + Add Trigger, under Start.

    Click the Plus + sign

  4. Select the desired custom field trigger. In this example, we will select 'Has the Field' under the Lead section.

    Click Has The Lead

  5. Set trigger parameters as necessary.
  6. Click OK.

    Complete Visual Workflow

  7. Complete the visual workflow as desired and when finished, click the Active/Inactive toggle to set this workflow to Active.

    Toggle the workflow ON

Viewing Life of the Lead Entries

Conversion events will display as individual entries in a contact's Life of the Lead. The entry will display the particular sort of conversion goal, as well as the date of the entry.

To view a conversion event in a contact's Life of the Lead, start from the Contacts tab in the left toolbar.

  1. Click the name of the desired lead.

Tracking Conversion Goals in Custom Reports

You can display conversion goal information in custom reports through the Conversion Funnel widget. Conversion funnels allow you to track conversion goals, which enhances your custom report to show which goals are driving sales. This, in turn, can help you to better understand your marketing materials' impact.

Refer to Creating Campaign Attribution Reports for more information on conversion funnels and reports.
