Link Zapier to Lead Gen & CRM in order to automatically update lead fields

Linking a Zapier account to Lead Gen & CRM allows for various types of automation in Lead Gen & CRM, including lead fields that are updated based on a defined Zap.

Creating or Updating a Lead in Zapier

You can create or update leads in Zapier as necessary.

  1. Open a new tab in your browser and log in to Zapier.
  2. Choose the first Zap Application.
  3. Choose Lead Gen & CRM.
  4. Open another new tab in your browser and log in to Lead Gen & CRM.
  5. Locate your API keys.
  6. Link the Lead Gen & CRM API keys in the browser tab.
  7. Map the fields from the first application.

Note: API is available on Advanced and Ultimate plans.



Linking Zapier to Lead Gen & CRM

To link Zapier with Lead Gen & CRM, you will need to create automation. This automation will require an action group and a visual workflow.


Creating Zapier Action Groups

To create an action group, do the following:

  1. Click Automation > Action Groups in the left toolbar.
  2. Create or edit an action group.
  3. Click + Add > Action under Start or an applicable action group branch.
  4. Select Send a Notification to Email in the Notifications section.
  5. Enter the email to send notifications to.
  6. Click OK.


Creating Zapier Workflows

To create a visual workflow that utilizes the Zapier action group, do the following:

  1. Click Automation > Visual Workflows in the left toolbar.
  2. Create or edit a visual workflow.
  3. Click + Add > Trigger under Start or an applicable action group branch.
  4. Select has the field in the Lead section.
  5. Enter the desired field that your Zapier leads will be attributed to in the Field Name text box.
  6. Select exactly in the Comparison drop-down menu.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click + Add > Action Group under the created trigger.
  9. Enter the created Zapier email notification action group in the Action Group Name text box.
  10. Click OK.

The lead will get the updated field. When the lead has the field, the action will trigger and apply the action group to the lead.
 


 

Testing the Zap

Once you have linked Zapier and Lead Gen & CRM, you will need to test the connection.

To test the link between Lead Gen & CRM and Zapier, do the following: 

  1. Open a tab in your browser and log in to Zapier in that browser tab.
  2. Create or update a lead using Zapier.
  3. Activate the Zap.
  4. Open another tab in your browser and log in to Lead Gen & CRM in that browser tab.
  5. Click Contacts in the left toolbar.
  6. Click the name of the desired lead.
  7. Click the Memberships tab.

The action group will appear in Memberships if the linking process was successful.
