Merging Contacts

In a situation where there are duplicate contacts in your account, merging those two contacts may be the best solution

Merge contacts to keep your lists clean and up to date. 


 
Users:
Administrators 
Company Managers 
Marketing Managers 
Sales Managers 
Salespersons  
Jr. Salespersons  

 

Merging Contacts

To merge contacts, do the following:

  1. From the Contact Manager, locate the main contact. Click  12more.png  Options

    Three-dot settings menu icon on the far right of a contact in the Contact manager table 
  2. Select Merge Contact with

    Merge Contact With in the contact settings dropdown menu 
  3. Type the target contact's name in the modal window that appears.
  4. For each field, select which contact's information to use. 
  5. Click Save.

Merged Content

Once the merger is complete, the target contact is deleted from the database. Its content will be merged with the main contact. The information that will be carried over includes:

  • Selected field information
  • Tracked devices
  • List memberships
  • Tasks
  • Notes
  • Primary campaign attribution

Note: Form History information is also located on the contact's Life of the Lead.


The information that will not be carried over includes:

  • Synced and Lead Gen & CRM email history
  • Media Center history
  • Action group memberships
  • Opportunity associations
  • Lead owners
  • Life of the Lead events 
  • Form history

Note: The lead owner for the main contact is retained during the merger process.
