Create a private event

Set up your event with an access code so that only those who have been given the access code can purchase tickets

Perhaps you're hosting an event exclusively for your largest donors or your most loyal customers. If you'd like only a select group of people to be able to register for your event, you can do so by creating an access code. Provide this code to your invitees, which will allow them to proceed through the registration. Anyone without this code will not be able to register.

First, create a ticket that can only be revealed when a code is entered:

1. On the Tickets, merch, & codes page, click Create > Ticket.
   
   
    
2. Fill in the details of your ticket, and then check the "Reveal this ticket with a code" box.
3. Click Save and close.
   
   
    

Next, create a promo code and apply it to the ticket you just created:

1. On the "Tickets, merch, & codes" step, click Add New > Promo code.
   
   
    
2. Enter a name for the promo code.
3. Apply the code to "Selected tickets/items".
4. From the dropdown, select the ticket you just created.
5. Fill out the remaining details, and then click Save and close.
   
   
    

While registering, your invitees will have the ability to enter in the access code you provide them in order to reveal the ticket. Once they access the registration page, they would:

1. Click Add promo code.
   
   
    
2. Enter the promo code and then click Apply.
   
   
    
3. The hidden ticket will be revealed. The registrant can select the number of tickets they'd like, and then click Continue to proceed through registration.
   
   
    

Anyone who is not invited to your event and doesn't have the code will not be able to reveal the ticket, and therefore would not be able to complete registration.
