Set a duration of time between actions in a path

Timing is everything! When you send a communication too quickly it can turn your customers off, and if you send it too late your customers may have already moved on. Adding a time delay to your automation path lets you select how long passes between communications, and you can always edit it later if it's not quite right.

Add a time delay rule to a path

A time delay Rule must fall below the Trigger in a path and should be followed with an Action.

  1. From the Rules section of the Path builder, drag a Time delay step into your path.
  2. Drop the time delay anywhere in the path where there is a plus sign.

It's that easy! Repeat the steps for each time delay you want to add to your path. A time delay can also be dragged anywhere there is a plus sign if you want to change its location in the path.

Repeat the steps for each time delay in your path. You can add more time delays by dragging one from the Roles section of the Path builder.

Remove a time delay rule from a path

When you delete a time delay Rule, it can't be undone, but it's easy to add another in if you need it.

  1. Click the three dots on the Time delay step in your path, and select "Remove."

Automation Path Builder with time delay step in the path, and time delay menu expanded with Remove option selected

  2. Click Delete to confirm the action.
