Take a look at the month in advance and plan on what content to send as the weeks unfold.

Did you know that every Constant Contact account comes with a Campaign Calendar? You can plan your email campaigns days, weeks, and months at a time. With the ability to see national holidays and scheduled emails side-by-side, you can easily find gaps in content. Keep in touch with those subscribers by:

Building anticipation for an upcoming event

Linking your promotions to a holiday is a smart way to engage with your subscribers. After all, holidays are a great excuse to throw a party! So stay fresh in everyone's mind by staggering announcements, reminders, and last chance emails in the days leading up to the event.

  • Send the announcement email two weeks beforehand.
  • Send the reminder email one week beforehand.
  • Send the last chance email two days beforehand.

Managing the busy holiday season

The end of the year is a crazy time. With one holiday after another, November and December can go by fast. And although it may be tempting to advertise for every holiday possible, we recommend taking part in just two. Choose whichever plans make the most sense for your business.

  • Put your exclusive Black Friday deals front and center with price slashes and pictures of your merchandise.
  • Encourage your subscribers to shop locally on Small Business Saturday with pictures of customers from the community.
  • Show off your e-commerce chops on Cyber Monday with individual "Buy Now" buttons for each product.
  • Highlight the benefits of donations on Giving Tuesday with pictures of positive results.

Staying active during the slow season

Don't have any timely holidays for your industry? That's alright! Try sending a non-promotional email to your contacts instead. Seeing your name in their inbox will ensure you aren't forgotten. Providing education about your business is also an excellent use of your social media channels. It's engaging. So spread the word in a fun and charming way with these non-promotional campaign ideas:

  • Create an educational video about what goes into your latest product.
  • Supply statistics to let your audience know the lengths you go to maintain a quality product.
  • Take candid photos with your phone to show what goes on behind-the-scenes of your business.
