Export your email reports

Download a CSV file of your email reports or of the contacts associated with an individual email's Sent, Opened, Clicked, Bounced, Suspended, Unsubscribed, and Did Not Open reports

The reports available for an email available for an email can be exported as an Excel or .CSV file, which you can save to your computer for future reference. If you want to use historical data to create comparison reports, saving your reports as a spreadsheet lets you do that.

Export the email report

Checking your email reporting gives you a good idea how your emails are performing over time so that you can make adjustments to what isn't working and keep doing what is.

  1. From the menu on the left, click Reporting.
  2. (Optional) To help narrow your search, select a date range from the drop-down menu.

  3. Scroll down to the Email campaigns table and select the email or emails you want to export.
  4. Click Export Selected.

Depending on your browser, you'll see options for opening or saving the CSV file. The file includes the time sent, campaign name, sends, opens and open rate, mobile and desktop opens, clicks and click rate, bounces and bounce rate, unsubscribes and unsubscribe rate for each of the emails you select for export.

 

Light Bulb IconDesign tip: If you need some visual interest for your reporting, you can also generate a graphic. Click the Graph toggle to generate a line graph and then click Download As. You can also compare up to 5 emails by selecting them and clicking the Compare Selected button to generate a bar chart. These graphs can be download in various formats, including PNG, PDF, and CSV. 

  

Export the contacts associated with a specific email report

The contacts associated with the sends, opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes for each of your emails can be exported so you can look for trends over time and decide how to best manage your contacts.

  1. From the menu on the left, click Reporting.
  2. Click the Emails tab.
  3. (Optional) To help narrow your search, select a date range from the drop-down menu.

  4. Scroll down to the Email campaigns table, and click on the hyperlinked number or percentage next to your email to open the Sends, Opens, Clicks, Bounces, or Unsubscribes report for that email.
    Note: Once you view a specific contact report, you can toggle to any of the other contact reports for the same email campaign from within that report.

  5. Click Export Contacts to export the full list of contacts in the contact report.
    Note: If you've already exported a specific report, you can click the drop-down menu over the Contacts table to select a new report type.

  6. Click Export to confirm the action.

  7. Click the Download now button in the confirmation message at the top of the screen to view the exported CSV file. Depending on the size of your file, it can take a few minutes for the download to complete. The Refresh page button turns into the Download now button when the file is ready.

Depending on your browser, you'll see options for opening or saving the file. Repeat the process for each type of contact report by selecting it from the drop-down menu (see step 5) and clicking the Export Contacts button again.

The reports are ordered by date, so if you've exported a report more than once, just look for the most recent date and time in the timestamp at the end of the CSV file name. For example:
