The Reporting tab lets you see your top email stats over a period of time, compare your performance to the industry average, get tips for how to improve, and dig deeper into your individual email stats.

Note: Automated email series have their own reporting and aren't reflected on the Reporting tab.

Get an overview

When you look at the reporting numbers for several emails at once, you can spot trends and see the overall picture of your results.

  1. From the menu on the left, click Reporting.
  2. On the Emails tab, use the drop-down to select a date range to view your email stats during that time.
  3. In the Overview section, you’ll see:
    • Sends - The total number of contacts you’ve sent emails to in the specified time period and the average open, unopened, click, and bounce rate.
Note: These stats do not include emails that were resent.
    • Opens - The total number of email opens and the opens by device so you can see where your contacts are viewing your emails. You can see the breakdown of opens on a desktop and mobile device for an individual email on its Email Details page.
    • Clicks - The total number of clicks during the specified time period and a breakdown of clicks by device.
  4. Click Download As to download the Overview stats as a png, jpg, svg, pdf, or csv.

Email Plus IconReview your plan: Full access to these reports is not available in all Constant Contact plans. If you don’t have full access, you may need to upgrade your plan.
  1. See how your email performance compares to the industry average. Be sure to update your industry in your account to receive an accurate comparison.
  2. Use the Export Contacts button to download and save the report as an Excel or CSV file to your computer.
  3. From the drop-down on the left-hand side, select which report you want to view.
  • Sent - See which contacts were on the lists you emailed.
  • Opened - See the contacts who we can verify opened your email
  • Clicked - See the contacts who clicked links in your email, and which links they clicked.
  • Links - View how many unique clicks each link in your email received. Links that were most popular tell you exactly what your contacts are curious about.
  • Bounced - When we get a bounce message back from a contact's email address, we record it and categorize the reason for the bounce. Take a look at the email addresses that bounced and either try to resolve the issue or delete these contacts from your account completely.
  • Unsubscribed - See who opted-out from receiving your emails and why.
  • Did Not Open - See the contacts who didn't open your email. You may want to try resending the email, or save the contacts into a new list so that you can send coupons or targeted content to win back their interest.
