We're sorry you encountered an error while setting up your email authentication! There are a couple of reasons you could be seeing this error:
If you're seeing this error message and can't set up your authentication, please contact Support for assistance.
It can take up to 24 hours to provision your account with authentication. If you have enabled, then disabled, then re-enabled authentication within a 24-hour period, the authentication settings can take even longer to propagate.
To fix the issue or prevent it from happening, make sure you've correctly published the very latest DKIM key. Then, wait a full 24 hours after enabling your account settings before testing to see that your authentication is working.
Some DNS providers may automatically add formatting to your TXT record, which can result in the domain being added twice to the hostname, or the key value having a typo in it. Since a DKIM record must match exactly, this can cause failures.
To fix the issue or prevent it from happening, check the TXT record you added and make sure the hostname and value exactly match the information given to you within the authentication section of your Constant Contact account settings.
