Create your Facebook Page

Exclamation Point IconImportant: In order to make a Facebook Page for your organization, you first need to set up a personal Facebook account.

Your Facebook Page is connected to your personal Facebook account, so the "owner" of the organization should be the one creating the page. Once the page is created, you're able to designate other people to be 'page admins,' which allows them to create posts, respond to messages and comments, and edit the page, but doesn't give them access to the personal account associated with the page.

  1. On your personal Facebook profile page, click the square menu sign in the upper right, and then click Page.

  2. Give your page a name as you want it to appear to the public.

  4. Add a description for your page.
  5. Click Create Page.

  10. From the "About Page" menu, click the pencil to Edit Page Info and provide some background information about your organization. Adding extra page categories, a link to your official website, and your hours makes it easier for your customers and supporters to find the information on your page when they need it, and helps return your Facebook page in web searches too.

Your  page is created and you're almost done! It's time to invite some friends to like your page and create a post to start getting your name out there.
